shucks

It's bad when I'm badmouthing gen ed classes given the fact that I haven't even taken one yet!

But according to my facebook I have mech Eng and Math listed as my concentrations. And I s'pose that's cool, but I've been thinking about what would be the consequences of double majoring in Mech and Math. For the most part, it seems pretty harmless. However, I realized that the two majors have different gen ed requirements. For just a Mech Eng major, I'd need only 1 class to satisfy both the arts and the humanities branch. But in the math major I need one art and one humanity, separately. Poo. BUt regardless I think I'll take English 209 in the Spring cuz it meets the arts requirement. I know I've badmouthed English in the past, and how I was so excited that all I would need was one more semester of English for the rest of my life. But, what can I say, I lied.

ENGL 209 -- Introduction to the Writing of Poetry (3 units)
Description: Beginning techniques of poetry writing, taught through exercises, the writing of original poetry, and readings in contemporary poetry.
Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E.
Prerequisite(s): completion of freshman composition sequences.
Approved as: General Education Tier Two - Arts.
Usually offered: Fall, Spring.

So in order to not need to take ANY more gen ed classes after ENGL 209, I either need to just get a Mech Eng major or switch to Engineering Mathematics. BUt a degree is different from a jorb, and frankly that's what worries me the most.

Poo.
