Life as a bum: Day 1
So I am now officially a college graduate. I am waiting until the fall for classes to start up. I have no current summer job or any real intentions to have a summertime job.
In short, I am a bum for now.
Day 1 went pretty well. Went with my mom to pay some bills. I am really worried about the car, though. They showed me some bad wear on the back tires. Said there was a possibility for a blowout. Of course they were quick to give me an estimate for their repair and replacement costs, but it still has me unsettled. Maybe I should try and find a job, even if it's just at the grocery store or Gamestop or something. Other than that, I didn't so much today. Played some video games. Took a nap. Had a weird dream involving Brent as a ponytailed CNN iReporter correspondent. Got up and had a snack. Now here typing. Pretty uneventful.
Saturday was the big day. I graduated from college. I felt like a basketball player down there on the floor of the arena, but it was a good feeling.
I had been talking with my dad. He had said he would come see me at my graduation. I was hesitant until I actually saw him afterwards. I did see my aunt, his sister, in the crowd. I was also really happy to see her. We had a big fiesta at our house that afternoon. A few of my friends came over, some of my mom's coworkers, and my dad's family. His kids are really good at Rock Band. I had two of my old teachers come and visit. That was awesome. It felt really good. I found out my dad writes in the same way as my favorite teacher did: all caps. I wonder if that's just coincidence. I'm not sure how much my dad and I are gonna keep in touch. I have to be naturally hesitant, but he did leave me a voicemail today, so maybe. It could be cool to have a dad, half-siblings. Of course I my mom know she's been the one that helped me get here. I might have complained about stuff along the way, but I got it done. And now I am a college graduate. Let's just check on the Student Link and...
What the?!?!?!
