like cake
So yeah, odds are I'm gonna have to switch back to double majoring in Math and Mechanical separately. The problem now is what to do about minors. It's theoretically possible to get both Physics and Econ minors, but it'd be as hard as hell, and as much as I like to think that I could do 19 units (roughly six classes with one of them having a lab) three semesters in a row, I have a feeling that I'll have to slow down somewhere. My best idea so far is to enlist for both minors, but only take the classes that I really want/thinkIwant to take. Part of the problem with that, though, would be that I'd so close to the minors that, to me, it'd be stupid to not get 'em. I analogize it to cake. If you don't start eating it in the first place, you'll long for it but you won't have to worry about sweating it off later. If you only have a piece of the cake, you'll want the rest cuz you hate to see cake go to waste. If you eat the whole thing, though, you'll be happy, but overstufffed and possibly barfy. So what's best? I could eat just a little cake, but it'd take a lot of willpower to fight the temptation, and I honestly don't know if I have that willpower.
I wonder if I could convince someone into a thematic minor of, say, Econ and Physics and Systems Engineering? Maybe something along the lines of "theoretical and applications of game theory to business and nature"? Idunno, might be worth a shot. These would be the key classes classes used:
Phys 242- basic quantum physics and relativity
SIE 305- Engineering probability and Stats
Econ 361- Intermediate Microeconomics
Econ 407- Economics of Strategy and/or
SIE 443- Game Theory
And then I could just use a lower leveled class or two or something to fill up the other required units. Eh, but it seems like its more trouble than its worth. Bugger.
I was also looking into the possibility of triple majoring in regular math, Mechanical AND Engineering Math. I'd had to give up the Econ/Physics thing all the way, but it'd still be hard as heck, probably harder. Crapples. I'll keep you posted on the situation.
